Level Switch uses tuning fork sensor.

Press Release Summary:

LZ10 Tuning Fork Level Switch vibrates at nominal frequency of 400 Hz. As switch becomes immersed in liquid or slurry, corresponding frequency shift occurs. When measured frequency shift reaches setpoint value, switch changes state indicating presence of liquid or solid medium. It is suitable for liquid applications with light to medium coating or scaling-type characteristics, or lightweight solids such as grains and pellets.

Original Press Release:

New Tuning Fork Level Switch is an Excellent Choice for Applications Involving Scaling or Slurry Type Liquids

Relay or FET output provides a reliable switch interface with remote devices such as PLCs, SCADA or alarms

Los Alamitos, CA (November 15, 2001) - Flowline's new LZ10 Tuning Fork Level Switch is an excellent choice for such challenging liquid applications as those with light to medium coating or scaling-type characteristics. Examples include light sodium hydroxide, brine and copper sulfate solutions. Other applications are non- hazardous, lightweight solids such as grains and pellets.

Designed for installation through the wall or inside the tank, the sensor and cable rating is NEMA 6 (IP68) and includes CSA/NRTL (UL) and CE compliance. The all-plastic construction with PP/Ryton® material is ideal for corrosive environments.

Selectable switch states are NO or NC. Accuracy is ±1 mm in water. The LZ10 is compatible with Flowline's family of relay controllers and flash alarms and is available with Flowline's Smart Trak, Switch Pak and Switch Pro packages.

The tuning fork switch vibrates at a nominal frequency of 400 Hz. As the switch becomes immersed in a liquid or slurry, a corresponding frequency shift occurs. When the measured frequency shift reaches the setpoint value, the switch changes state indicating the presence of a liquid or solid medium.

Price for the LZ10 Tuning Fork Level Switch starts at $270, with delivery from stock.
