LC Duplex Switch Shares Four Separate Fiber Optic Networks from One Computer with RS232 Remote Control
Electro Standards Laboratories adds QuickSwitch® Model 6197 4-Position LC Duplex Switch to their Fiber Optic Switch product line. The Model 6197 allows access to any one of four separate fiber optic networks from one computer with both front panel pushbutton for local control and ASCII RS232 Serial Data for remote control operation.
The Model 6197 Fiber Optic Switch has internal circuitry to insure isolation between networks/devices. The switch also utilizes MEMS-based mirror/prism switch technology supporting Gigabit data rates. Also featuring all fiber, LC duplex, multimode, 50/125 micron ports and supporting a wavelength of 850nm with insertion losses less than 1.0 dB.
The Model 6197 retains last switch position in the event of a power loss and continues to pass data. The unit also offers optical data throughput scalability and is service protocol transparent. A DB9 remote control port accepts RS232 Serial Data commands to control switch position for off-site monitoring and switch management. Front panel pushbutton can also be locked-out remotely. A UL approved 120 VAC, 60Hz wall mount power module supplies 12 VDC, 500 mA to the unit. There is also an optional CE and UL listed wide range table mount power module in place of standard. The Model 6197 comes in a standard rackmount package with dimensions of 19.0" W x 1.75" H x 8.0" D and weighs approximately 4.5 lbs.
