Wide Range Power Module Plus Model 6298 LC Duplex A/B Switch Optimal for Worldwide Apps
The QuickSwitch® Model 6298 Single Channel LC Duplex A/B Switch with RS232 Serial Remote allows a device connected to the COM port access to the A or B port. The optional Wide Range Power Module, Catalog No. 517277, 100/240VAC, 50/60Hz, is both CE and UL listed. This power supply, paired with the Model 6298, presents and ideal solution for worldwide fiber optic A/B switching applications.
The Model 6298 switch may be controlled locally via pushbutton or remotely from the DB9 Serial Remote Control port. The DB9 Remote port provides control through RS232 serial commands and allows the user to both control and monitor the switch position remotely. Front panel pushbutton control can be locked out remotely. The front panel LED display indicates the switch position and unit power status.
MEMS-based mirror/prism switch technology supports Gigabit data rates. The Model 6298 is service protocol and bit-rate transparent. All fiber ports are LC duplex, multimode, 50/125 micron and support a wavelength of 850 nm. If power is lost, switch will default to the A position and continue to pass data. When power is restored, the unit will remain in the A position until switched by the user.
