Insulation Testers measure voltage/current/capacitance.
Press Release Summary:
Base model, MIT510, comes with 5 pre-programmed test voltages from 250-5,000 V and measures to 15 TW on digital scale. Adding to previous model's capabilities, MIT520 offers ability to step up voltage in 10 V increments from 50-1,000 V and 25 V increments beyond 1,000 V. It also includes pass/fail alarm, various tests, 32k data storage, and RS232 or USB downloading capabilities. Also available, MIT1020 adds 10,000 V range and ability to measure to 35 TW on digital scale.

Newest Technology Provides Users with the Most Advanced, Simple to use Megger® Insulation Testers
Megger introduces the new family of 5 and 10 kV insulation testers comprised of three analog/digital models.
MIT510: Base model with 5 pre-programmed test voltages (250, 500, 1000, 2500 and 5000 V); measures to 15 TW on the digital scale.
MIT520: Includes all the capability of the MIT510 plus the ability to step up the voltage in 10 V increments from 50 to 1000 V and in 25 V increments beyond 1000 V; pass/fail alarm; includes automatic Polarization Index, Step Voltage, Dielectric Discharge and Dielectric Absorption Ratio tests; includes data storage (32k) and downloading (RS232 or USB).
MIT1020: Includes pass/fail alarm and all the capability of the MIT520 plus a 10,000 V range and the ability to measure to 35 TW on the digital scale.
A number of product features include: IP65 case, line and battery powered, large digital display with analog sweep, backlit display and inside lid mounted "quick-start" user guide.
A variety of measurements including applied voltage, leakage current and capacitance, afford enhanced capabilities to diagnose insulation condition and problems. A 3 mA short circuit current allows for faster charging and testing of large inductive loads. A built-in integral timer starts automatically at the beginning of a test and displays in minutes and seconds.
These instruments also include many common electrical and mechanical specifications and are the best in the industry:
o Very high accuracy: ±5% to 1TW; ±20% to 10 TW
o Interference rejection of 2 mA rms @200 V and above
o Line input: 85-260V, 50/60Hz
o Safety: EN61010-1:2001 CATIII 600V
o EMC: EN61326-1:1998 for use in heavy industrial environments
