Inline Disperser is offered in small-batch version.

Press Release Summary:

Requiring 5 kW of input power, Micro Psi-Mix® pre-mixes and disperses particles then delivers finely pulverized solids into largest possible surface area of liquid to achieve homogeneous, fine, and completely repeatable dispersion. Pilot plant and small batch machine performs complete dispersion procedure in enclosed process chamber. It handles batch sizes from 15-700 L at production capacity of 100-400 kg/hr and speeds from 1,000-3,000 rpm.

NETZSCH Introduces Pilot Plant and Small Batch Version of Psi-Mix(r) Inline Disperser

Homogeneous fine dispersions and exact reproducibility set Micro Psi-Mix(r) apart

EXTON, Pa., March 30, 2007 - NETZSCH Feinmahltechnik GmbH will unveiled Micro Psi-Mix(r), the company's latest innovation in dispersion technology, at POWTECH 2007 in Nuremberg, Germany (Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, Hall 7, Stand 450), March 27 - 29, 2007.

Micro Psi-Mix is the pilot plant and small batch version of the highly successful full-size Psi-Mix(r) inline disperser, which Netzsch introduced in 2003. Psi-Mix delivered a dramatic advance in industrial mixing technology by creating a system that pre-mixes and disperses particles, and then delivers the finely pulverized solids into the largest possible surface area of liquid to achieve a homogeneous, fine, and completely repeatable dispersion.

Micro Psi-Mix can reduce the time it takes to process paint, inks, foods, drugs, and many other materials, even those that are barely pumpable, by up to 90 percent. The unit requires only 5 kilowatts of input power - less than half that required by conventional single- or multi-shaft mixers.

Micro Psi-Mix is capable of handling batch sizes from 15 to 700 liters, at a production capacity of approximately 100 - 400 kilograms per hour and at speeds ranging from 1000 to 3000 rpm.. The complete dispersion procedure occurs in an enclosed process chamber, effectively containing dust and emissions that can foul the workplace and the final product.

Applications range from researching and developing new products, to processing small batches of high-tech/high-value materials, to quality control or assurance, and to process optimization. For the latter, pilot plants and small batch versions of larger machines play a key role in ensuring that scale-up to high-production equipment is executed in a way that will produce optimal results. In the United States, Micro Psi-Mix will be available through Netzsch Fine Particle Technology, LLC, which is based in Exton, PA.
