Expanded Line of Robust Industrial Relays from Weidmuller- The New RIDERSERIES
RICHMOND, VA (December 4, 2008)- Weidmuller announces an expanded and improved line of industrial relays for the OEM and process control industries- the new RIDERSERIES family. The new RIDERSERIES industrial relay modules and relay bases can be specified and ordered separately, or as a single part number kit that includes the relay, base, LED indicator, retaining clip and markers. The new pre-assembled relay kits are available in all popular configurations including 24 VDC, 24 VAC, 115 VAC and 230 VAC, in Single Pole Double Throw and Double Pole Double Throw versions. Now just a handful of Weidmuller RIDERSERIES kits can replace dozens of small items, simplifying the process of ordering and inventory management, and reducing operating costs for both the OEM and end user.
RIDERSERIES relays feature rail-mounted relay bases with industry proven screw connections, as well as Weidmuller's unique Push-in technology that reduces installation time up to 75%. With Push-in connection technology, solid and crimped conductors can simply be inserted without the need to open the clamping point. Each connection has two clamping points for conductors up to 1.5 mm2 (16 AWG). In addition to the savings in installation time, the Push-in connection technology delivers safe and secure connections for high-vibration applications.
The new RIDERSERIES relay modules include features such as heavy duty industrial pinning to prevent accidental pin bending. They also offer outstanding contact properties so that the relay can switch loads up to 16A with 24VDC or 230 VAC for power or signal switching. To split the signal, simply use two changeover contacts; each contact is able to switch loads of up to 8A with 24V DC or 230 V AC. Color coding on the AC and DC inputs makes for easy identification and assures correct wiring.
An integrated status LED and free-wheeling diode protect the circuit from inductive kick back damage and allow for easy and fast detection of the switching status. It also provides for cost savings by eliminating an extra component, streamlining spare parts inventory and reducing assembly time. The unique test lever on each relay allows for mechanical operation of the contacts so that the output circuit can be tested without energizing the coil. The lever can temporarily or continuously lock the contacts closed, allowing for hands-free testing.
Weidmuller also offers 2-pin jumpers for time saving cross connections. With two available clamping points on each connection point, the push-in cross connection can be made, leaving the second point free for other connections. This feature provides users flexible and space-saving wiring options. All of Weidmuller's RIDERSERIES relays have CE and cURus approvals.
