Ethernet Direct Announces IUG-500EC Industrial Gigabit Switch with Conformal Coating & Extended Temperature

The Iguana series IUG-500EC is an Industrial 5-port Unmanaged Gigabit Switch positioned as enhanced entry-level switch. It supports IEEE 802.3/802.3u/802.3x with 10/100M, full/half duplex and MDI/MDI-X auto-sensing RJ45 ports. IUG-500EC is designed especially for mission critical and harsh environmental applications since it comes ready with conformal coating and extended temperature of -30 to 70 deg C. For additional protection, IUG-500EC comes in DIN rail mounted rugged housing and conformal coated protected circuitry with extended temperature tolerance. In addition, the Iguana switches offer Ethernet isolation of 1500 Vrms and frame ground for EMS protection which is not a standard feature in most Industrial Ethernet devices.

With 10 Gbps high memory bandwidth, IUG-500EC is an ideal solution for high bandwidth requirement such as applications with high resolution digital image transmission, video/audio file streaming/downloading, and server farm connectivity.

IUG-500EC comes with a unique power saving technology to reduce power usage of ports when in idle condition. The switch is also equipped with the feature to detect the length of any Ethernet cable connected to them for adjustment of power usage accordingly. Shorter lengths require less power. The power saving technology can save up to 60% of power for cost effective consideration in a plant floor.
