PFU Systems(TM) - Rapid Time-to-Market - System-on-Module Approach Accelerates Diagnostic Imaging Systems Design

Plug-N-Run(TM) G3 System-on-Modules with quad video outputs provide off-the-shelf building blocks for mobile and stationary medical diagnostic imaging solutions

"SCAR 2004" May 20, 2004 - Vancouver, BC - PFU Systems, Inc., SCAR BOOTH #1514, manufacturer of System-on-Modules (Computer-on-Modules) for embedded solutions, demonstrates ultra-compact Plug-N-Run G3 modules with Intel® Pentium® M and Celeron® M processors in multi-display medical diagnostic solutions. Their high levels of integration and ultra-compact footprint make it possible for medical OEM designers to greatly simplify their form and functionality design challenges for ultra-compact, secure and whisper quiet requirements. Built-in Signature(TM) Technology provides a flexible framework to implement security features to meet HIPAA regulations. Four integrated digital video outputs for DVI or LVDS displays implement extended desktops and dual independent display buffers, while integrated MPEG-2 decoding provides real-time viewing of MPEG-2 compressed PACS images.

"Our Plug-N-Run G3 modules implement advanced dynamic power management and security features not found in competing options," said Kishan Jainandunsing, vice president marketing of PFU Systems, Inc. "Dynamic power management makes it possible to reduce fan requirements and noise. An index card footprint, GHz performance and integrated quad digital video outputs, make for very quiet tablet or shoe-box size mobile or stationary diagnostic imaging solutions. The Plug-N-Run G3 modules include our Signature Technology for protection of patient data as well as OEM software intellectual property."

Main Features
These include the Intel® Pentium® M and Intel® Celeron® M processors, Intel® 855GME chipset, expansion up to 1GB of PC2700 memory, dual DVO and dual LVDS video outputs, PCI bus, USB 2.0, ATA100 IDE, LPC bus, SMBus, serial ports, GPIO, VGA, 50G and 2.2G shock and vibration, respectively, BIOS, a 160mm x 100mm x 13.5mm (6.3" x 3.9" x 0.5") footprint and compatibility with Linux®, Microsoft® Windows® 2000 and XP and popular RTOSes.

Pricing and Availability
The Plug-N-Run G3 modules are shipping in several GHz speed variants. Prices start below $500 in OEM quantities for 1.3GHz modules.
