IGBT Modules efficiently minimize design space.
Press Release Summary:
Offering 85-253 Vac input voltage and 1.5-3 A output current, SLA6800MP and SMA6800MP series withstand voltages to 500 V (MOSFET breakdown voltage) and 600 V (IGBT breakdown voltage). This results in Inverter Power Module suited for controlling 3-phase motor inverters used to drive motors of residential and commercial appliances. IC consists of necessary power elements, 6 MOSFETS or 6 IGBTs, and 2 pre-drive ICs needed to configure main circuit of inverter.

Allegro MicroSystems, Inc. Announces New High Voltage IGBT Module
Minimize Design Space
Worcester, MA, January 24, 2008 - Allegro MicroSystems, Inc. introduces a new series in their Inverter Power Module (IPM) product line. Allegro's SLA6800MP and SMA6800MP series has an 85 to 253 VAC input voltage, and a 1.5 to 3 A output current. These ICs can withstand voltages of up to 500 V (MOSFET breakdown voltage) and 600 V (IGBT breakdown voltage), providing a robust IPM for optimally controlling three-phase motor inverters used to drive motors of residential and commercial appliances. This product line was developed to address a market need toward energy-efficient technologies designed for small power applications such as dishwasher pumps and small compressors.
The SLA6800MP and SMA6800MP series employs a new, small-footprint SIP power package. The IC itself consists of the necessary power elements, six MOSFETS or six IGBTs and two pre-drive ICs needed to configure the main circuit of the inverter. This enables the main circuit to be configured with fewer external components.
This new series includes various built-in functions and protections. In addition to the over-current or over-temperature detection input, these devices feature a built-in protection circuit for controlling the power supply voltage drop and fault signal output during the protection circuit operation. They also feature a CMOS compatible input of 5 V.
Allegro's new SLA6800MP and SMA6800MP series is priced below:
SMA6813MP $5.50
SMA6843MP $5.50
SLA6805MP $6.20
SLA6816MP $6.20
SMA6821MP $4.60
SMA6822MP $4.80
SMA6823MP $5.80
All devices are priced in quantities of 1,000 and have a 12-week typical lead-time to market.
