Flexible Machine Mount Installation
Harrisburg, Pa. - Fieldline I/O, Phoenix Contact's IP65/67 machine mount I/O family has been expanded to include Fieldline Modular I/O. Fieldline Modular I/O connects to the most popular fieldbus protocols and provides a cost effective solution where high concentrations of I/O or a variety of signal types are required.
A Fieldline Modular I/O configuration starts with a fieldbus interface module with eight built-in digital inputs. From the interface module, up to 16 self-addressing digital and analog I/O modules can be connected spanning a distance of 20 meters. The flexible inter-module connections enable the placement of I/O modules around mechanical restrictions creating a distributed I/O network that is independent of the fieldbus. This lowers design costs by providing machine standardized I/O layouts with fieldbus flexibility. This approach also allows faster machine cycle times by reducing the network load of the fieldbus.
Fieldline Modular is equipped with the new Speedcon M12 connection technology from Phoenix Contact. With this quick locking system, a simple half turn makes a secure, watertight and vibration-proof connection of sensors, actuators, bus cables, and power. SPEEDCON works with all standard M12 connectors, requiring no special adapters, making it backwards, forwards and future compatible.
