Weidmuller's Input/Output ECO SAI Distributors: A New Solution For Less Stringent Industrial Floor Applications
Richmond, VA (August 16, 2005) - A number of automation and process control applications use Input/Output distributors in industrial settings that are not subject to extreme life expectancy and robustness. Weidmuller is proud to announce a new family of its successful SAI Blocks line, designed specifically for these types of applications. This new product family, the ECO SAI product line, is proven to be both long lasting and durable. These new products are now available with four, six or eight M12 ports.
The new ECO SAI distributors are designed to offer class IP 68 protection. They are installed on-site and their flat, sturdy design protects the ECO SAI distributors from harsh industrial environments where space is limited. These distributors are designed with a pluggable connection hood for bus lines, a cost-effective feature that enables easy maintenance. In the case of a defective cable, only the cable needs to be exchanged - not the entire distributor. Screw connection technology is used to connect the bus line across a terminal range of 0.1 mm² to 1.5 mm² (approx. 27 to 15 AWG.) The captive fixing screws are made of steel, and have slotted and cross-recessed heads.
Available in the industry standard grey (RAL 7032), ECO SAI housings are made of the plastic Pocan, a self-extinguishing material with a flammability class of UL 94 VO. All ECO SAI distributors are classified as pollution severity III devices.
ECO SAI distributors have world-wide approvals such as CSA/UL, CE and C-Link.
