Original Press Release:
New 24-Channel Digital Output Board from Kontron Provides Cost-Effective and Reliable Operation
San Diego, CA, September 2002 - Kontron, formerly PEP Modular Computers, has introduced a 3U/4HP board with 24 digital output channels for reliable, stable operation. The newest addition to Kontron's growing line of I/O boards, the CP382 features the same modularity and extensive features as Kontron's other I/O boards. With pricing comparable to similar 12-16 port boards, the CP382 is extremely cost-effective. It is ideal for a wide range of harsh environment industrial automation applications that require multiple digital outputs.
The CP382 incorporates several safety features to ensure stable operation including over-temperature thermal shutdown at 150°C (302°F), under-voltage protection with an upper threshold of 9.5 V, and a maximum over-current protection of 1.2 A.
Each of the 24 digital channels offers up to 500 mA of output current. Low output potential is less than 1.5 V and high nominal potential is 24 V. Standard temperature range of the new CP382 is 0°C to 70°C (70°F to 158°F), with an extended temperature range of -40°C to 85°C (-40°F to 185°F) for use in harsh environments. Power supply ranges from 9.5 V to 35 V.
The board also uses an application programming interface (API) for easy connection to visualization tools and is compliant to PICMG 2.0 rev. D3.0. Supported software includes Windows, VxWorks, and Linux.
Pricing for the CP382 begins at $520 US. Delivery is 3 to 4 weeks ARO.
