GE Fanuc Embedded Systems Announces Next Generation VMEbus Managed Gigabit Ethernet Switch Platform
RM921 Family is IPv6 Enabled and Offers Full Wire Speed with Full Management Capabilities
Huntsville, Ala. - January 16, 2006 - GE Fanuc Embedded Systems today announces the new RM921, a family of VMEbus managed Gigabit Ethernet switches enabled with the new IPv6 standard. Available with 12 (single slot) or 24 (dual slot) front panel Gigabit Ethernet ports, copper and/or fiber connectivity options, conformal coating, and an optional 10 Gigabit Ethernet uplink port, the RM921 is one of the most flexible and powerful product line offerings for today's switching needs. The product will be featured at the Bus & Board Conference- 2006.

Based on the Motorola® XPC8240 processor and the multilayered Broadcom® BCM56302
switch fabric chip, the RM921 has integrated layer 2/3 switching capabilities as well as the ability to support higher layer 4-7 functionality when required. This family is compatible with current IPv4 deployments and can be fully managed via SNMP, Telnet or a web server interface.
