Agilent Technologies Offers Flexible Purchasing Options for its Primary Frequency Standard



Customers Benefit from Reduced Cost of Ownership and Enhanced Warranty for High-Performance Cesium Beam Tubes

PALO ALTO, Calif., Dec. 16, 2002 -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced flexible purchasing options for its 5071A primary frequency standard. The options will allow customers to tailor precision timing systems to their needs and lower their cost of ownership. Users of the high-performance Agilent cesium beam tube also benefit from a new, extended five-year warranty.

The Agilent 5071A primary frequency standard is now available with an optional simplified front panel that includes attention and continuous operation LEDs, and two BNC connectors for the 1PPS and SYNC signals. Laboratory and field application users can cut their costs by purchasing the 5071A primary frequency standard without internal standby batteries.

In addition, the Agilent 5071A now comes complete with the choice of Agilent's high-performance or long-life standard cesium beam tube. The Agilent high-performance cesium beam tube has been redesigned to provide a longer life and has a new five-year warranty.
