Expansion Module adds discreet I/O to motion controller.

Press Release Summary:

Model Exp70-D8 provides up to 32 discrete I/O, in 4 software-configurable sets of inputs and outputs, to RMC70 Series motion controllers. It has 12-24 V input range, while outputs can switch 100 mA in same voltage range. Field-changeable unit delivers mix and match flexibility for motion controllers targeted towards hydraulic, pneumatic, and electric servo motion control applications with position, speed, and position-pressure or force needs.

Expansion Module adds Discrete I/O to Delta's New RMC70 One- and Two-axis Motion Controller

July 27,2004 - Vancouver, WA. Delta Computer Systems, Inc. Exp70-D8 Expansion Module provides discrete I/O capability to Delta's RMC70 Series motion controllers. Inputs and outputs in these modules can be arranged in any software configurable combination of 8 inputs or outputs. A maximum of 4 expansion modules can provide up to 32 discrete I/O.

The Exp70-D8 has an input range of 12 to 24 volts while the outputs can switch 100mA in the same voltage range. Initial production releases for both serial and PROFIBUS communications and MDT/SSI transducers include the RMC75S-MAx (1or 2 axis)-D8, RMC75P-MAx (1 or 2 axis)-D8.

"Delta expansion modules are completely field changeable, delivering mix and match flexibility along with lasting value and excellent price/performance to our new RMC70 one- and two-axis motion controller" stated Delta CEO, Steve Nylund.

The entire Delta RMC motion controller family targets hydraulic, pneumatic and electric servo motion control applications with position, speed, and position-pressure/force needs. As with the Delta's flagship RMC100 multi-axis controller, the RMC70 series offers easy setup, tuning, programming, and diagnostics.

Industry market segments for the RMC family include plastics, metals, forging, forest products, testing, automotive, aerospace, waste treatment, entertainment, and others. Specific applications include injection molding, cyclic testing, press controls, veneer lathes, theme park animation, show rides, pulping refiners, synchronized stacking and others.
