Ethernet Switches support complex network architectures.

Press Release Summary:

Unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch models 304TX and 306TX have four and six RJ-45 auto-sensing 10/100BaseTX Ports, respectively; all ports are full/half duplex capable. Both switches auto-negotiate speed and flow control capabilities of TX copper port connection and configure themselves automatically. Measuring 2 in. wide and weighing less than 1 lb, switches handle up to 4,000 MAC addresses and are housed in DIN-RAIL steel enclosures.

N-TRON(TM) Announces Two Additions to the 'Budget-Saving' 300 Series Family

The N-TRON(TM)304TX and 306TX Industrial Ethernet Switches offer high reliability and full wire speed communications, ideal for use in industrial data acquisition, control, and Ethernet I/O applications.

Highlights
o Compact size, smaller footprint
o Designed to solve the most demanding industrial communications requirements
o Four or Six RJ-45 auto-sensing 10/100BaseTX Ports
o Budget-Saving prices

Mobile, AL, February 2, 2004 - Today, N-TRON Corp. introduced the 304TX and 306TX unmanaged, Industrial Ethernet Switches, offering high reliability and full wire speed communications, in a unique compact size. The 304TX and 306TX join the 302MC, introduced in late 2003, to make up the N-TRON 300 Series Family. Measuring two inches wide and weighing less than one pound, the N-TRON 300 Series provides a smaller footprint, conserving space in the most critical dimension.

The N-TRON 304TX and 306TX Industrial Ethernet Switches are designed to solve the most demanding industrial communications, while providing high throughput and minimum downtime. The 304TX has four RJ-45 auto-sensing 10/100BaseTX ports and the 306TX has six RJ-45 auto-sensing 10/100BaseTX ports. All ports are full/half duplex capable, using "state of the art" Ethernet switching technology. Both Ethernet Switches auto-negotiate the speed and flow control capabilities of the TX copper port connection, and configure themselves automatically.

Since the 300 Series Ethernet Switches are auto-sensing, there will be no need to make extensive wiring changes if upgrades are made to the host computers, plant systems, or Ethernet I/O modules. The switching fabric simply scales up or down automatically to match the specific network environment.

N-TRON's 300 Series Ethernet Switches are ideal candidates for upgrading existing hubs and repeaters to increase bandwidth and determinism by virtually eliminating network collisions. The Ethernet Switches handle up to 4,000 MAC addresses, thus enabling these products to support extremely sophisticated and complex network architectures. The products also keep the network affordable, while maintaining the plug & play simplicity of the unmanaged hub.

Like all N-TRON products, the 304TX and 306TX are housed in a rugged DIN-RAIL steel enclosure, designed specifically to withstand extreme temperature, noise, shock and vibrations. All of the 300 Series products have received full IEEE 802.3 Compliance, and Class 1, Div 2 Hazardous Location Certification. The 304TX and 306TX are built to last with a MTBF of over 2 million hours, turning a company's investment into an asset.

The 304TX and 306TX offer Advanced Management Functions like N-View(TM) OLE for Process Control (OPC) Server Software. N-View can be combined with popular HMI software packages to add network traffic monitoring, trending, and alarming to any application using N-TRON switches configured with the N-View option.
