Moxa Offers an Excellent Entry-Level Ethernet Switch for a Full Gigabit Network
Taipei, Taiwan, March 18, 2009-Moxa has expanded its family of high-performance full Gigabit Ethernet switches. Moxa is proud to release the new EDS-G205 series, a line of entry-level full Gigabit unmanaged Ethernet switches to fulfill the demand for Gigabit network development. Moxa's EDS-G205 is equipped with 5 ports and supports 10/100/1000BaseT(X), and because every port has plug and play ability, users can immediately reassign their network to full high-speed performance. The EDS-G205 provides an economical entry-level solution for upgrading existing Fast Ethernet networks and will ensure smooth data transmissions for bandwidth-intensive industrial applications.
The EDS-G205 is by no means any less rugged than other members of its family. With a wide power range of 12/24/48 VDC, redundant dual power inputs, built-in relay warning function for sending alerts when power failures or port breaks occur, and broadcast storm protection to ensure smooth network communications, it is as about as rugged as they come. Thanks to its -40 to 75°C wide operating temperature and industrial approvals, such as Class I, Div. 2/ATEX Zone 2, DNV, or GL certification, the compact yet durable EDS-G205 can withstand harsh industrial applications. Additionally, the EDS-G205's power saving features can reduce the power consumption by as much as 82%. This is achieved when the EDS-G205's power saving utility detects a link down or a cable length of less than 60 meters, and activates its power-saving function.
