GE Fanuc Embedded Systems Announces New CompactPCI 24-Port Conduction-Cooled Managed Gigabit Ethernet Switch



CP920-24/M Layer 2/3 Switch Is A Full-Wire Speed Solution Targeting Highly Rugged Applications

Huntsville, Ala. - January 16, 2006 - GE Fanuc Embedded Systems today announced the new CP920-24/M, a CompactPCI® layer 2/3 conduction-cooled performance-driven solution offering full management capabilities via SNMP, Telnet or a Web Server interface. The board is ideal for use in military and defense applications that require extended operating temperatures of -40 to 85° C. The product will be featured at the Bus & Board Conference - 2006.

The CP920-24/M, an extension of the CP920 product family, is based on the Broadom BCM5690 Gigabit Ethernet switch chip and Motorola XPC8240 processor. The product integrates layer 2/3 switching capabilities as well as the ability to support higher layer 4-7 as required. This switch solution is fully compliant with PICMG 2.16 and offers 24 rear I/O ports, making it ideal for harsh environments requiring extensive Ethernet connectivity.

The CP920 product family is designed for switching applications requiring flexible and scalable deployment options along with seamless integration with other network infrastructure equipment.. Commercial grade solutions include the CP920, a 24-port solution with rear I/O and the CP920FP, a 12-port front I/O model offering fiber and copper connectivity, or a combination of both. The CP920-12/M is a 12-port rear I/O model and is ideal for extended temperature and rugged applications.
