Mobile, AL, November 1, 2003 - N-TRON, Corp. recently introduced the 508FX2 Series of Industrial Ethernet Switches, equipped with two 100BaseFX Ports and six 10/100BaseTX RJ-45 Ports. The two fiber optic 100BaseFX Ports, support a full 200Mb/s of communications. The six 10/100BaseTX ports are auto sensing and auto configuring, negotiating speed and performance by default. Our "state of the art" fast Ethernet switching technology eliminates network collisions and increases network determinism.
Housed in a rugged, DIN-RAIL or Panel Mounted, steel enclosure the 508FX2, like all N-TRON products, is designed specifically to operate in extreme industrial environments. It has extended industrial specifications and features to meet or exceed the specifications of the equipment it is connecting. These include extended temperature ratings, extended measured shock and vibration ratings, redundant power inputs, and a MTBF greater than 2M hours.
The 508FX2 offers advanced Ethernet communication management functions that can be configured using the COM Port, a DB 9 connector located on the right side of the switch. Some of the advanced management functions include: IGMP Snooping, VLAN, QoS, Trunking, Port Mirroring, and N-View(TM) N-TRON's remote monitoring using OPC Technology. N-VIEW OLE for Process Control (OPC) Server Software can be combined with the popular HMI software packages to add network traffic monitoring, trending and alarming to any application using N-TRON switches configured with the N-View option.
