Navy Approved Adhesives For Fiber Optics


Fiber Optic Center announces that ANAEBONd AB202 & ANGSTROMBONd® AB9112 have been tested and approved to the Military Specifications for retrofitting Naval Vessels.

ANAEBONd AB202 - A non-anaerobic, fast cure adhesive, is approved for field repair terminations and is included in the Navy shipboard Fiber Optic Damage Control Kit, NAVSEA Drawing Number 7344573. This unique system was designed for bonding glass. It's easy to use packaging allows for terminations in 2-3 minutes without heat. Fully cured material produces a high glass transition temperature thus reducing pistoning in adverse environmental conditions.

ANGSTROMBONd® AB9112 is a low stress epoxy approved to Mil A-24792A for use in OEM fiber optic terminations. This low viscosity, low stress adhesive will not cause cracking in multimode connectors, even when heat cured. The blue color and long working life allow for easy connectorization. AB9112 produces high bond strength and withstands humidity and extreme temperature environments. It is an excellent choice for all types of single and multimode connectors.
