Overview
The new IBM NetBAY 1U xSeries® Tape Enclosure offers a cost-effective solution for adding external tape drives to IBM 1U, 2U, and 3U rack-optimized IBM eserver xSeries servers. The NetBAY 1U Tape Enclosure supports one or two half-high tape drives. It allows each of these tape drives to be independently attached to a supported xSeries server, or both to be daisy chained to a single server.
The NetBAY 1U Tape Enclosure joins the NetBAY 4U Tape Enclosure (0034B0X) to provide a family of cost-effective rackmount tape enclosures for xSeries servers. The drive mounts directly to the enclosure and can be shared between two servers.
This tape enclosure is a reliable product that offers customer flexibility to meet growing backup storage requirements in a rack configuration.
Packaged in a dense, 1U mechanical, the xSeries Tape Enclosure device provides convenience and ease-of-use features:
