New Line of Metabo Carbide Drill Bits Offer Faster Drilling and Longer Service Life

West Chester, PA, May 2003 - Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools, abrasives and tooling for industrial, construction and welding applications, has introduced a new, comprehensive line of carbide-tipped rotary hammer and hammer drill bits for use in a variety of concrete, masonry and stone applications.

The bits have a number of design refinements that contribute to faster drilling, extended bit and tool life, and ease of operation. The Pro 4 uses a self-centering, chisel-shaped bit tip for rapid penetration, as well as a multifluted shaft that efficiently removes concrete dust while transferring more impact to the bit's tip.

The 2-Cutter design features a symmetrical double-fluted shaft with a reinforced linear core to improve stability and maximize power transmission. Its narrow lands reduce friction and vibration.

The 4-Cutter design has four carbide cutting surfaces at the tip for precise drilling with the least amount of vibration and strain transferred to the tool and the operator. Its large flute entrances and reinforced shank design ensures the fastest drilling and the longest tool life.

The bits are available in a variety of configurations. Pro 4 is available with an SDS-Plus Shank in diameters from 5/32" to 5/8" and in working lengths from 2" to 16". The Pro-4 line also offers several bits designed to work with the 5/16 CONDRIVE® system. The 2-Cutter designs are available with SDS-Plus shanks and bit diameters from 3/4" to 1" with working lengths from 6" to 16". 2-Cutter bits are also available with straight shanks, in diameters from 1/8" to 1" and working lengths from 1-3/8" to 18". The 4-Cutter design is available with SDS-Plus shanks in diameters from 1-1/8" to 1-1/4" and working lengths of 8" and 16", as well as with SDS-Max shanks and Spline shanks in diameters from 5/8" to 1-1/2" with working lengths from 7-1/2" to 18" and 5" to 17" respectively.
