Diaphragm Pumps feature start-up assist valve.

Press Release Summary:

Hydraulically-actuated process diaphragm pumps use Start-Up Assist Valve, which provides bypass for hydraulic fluid to preposition diaphragm at rear while pump is still at rest. Valve reduces torque requirements at start-up and permits use of lower hp motor. Featuring wetted and totally enclosed, sealless pump head and PTFE sandwich diaphragm, pumps handle flow rates from mls/hr to thousands of gal per pump head and pressures up to 17,500 psig.

Original Press Release:

Diaphragm Pump Assist Reduces Torque Requirements at Start-Up

A new positioning assist valve for their hydraulically actuated process diaphragm pumps that prepositions the diaphragm and reduces torque at start-up is being introduced by American Lewa, Inc. of Holliston, Massachusetts.

The LEWA Start-Up Assist Valve for their hydraulically actuated process diaphragm pumps provides a bypass for the hydraulic fluid to automatically preposition the diaphragm at the rear while the pump is still at rest. Reducing torque requirements at start-up and permitting the use of a lower horsepower motor, the valve is built into the hydraulic circuit and is available for the full line of LEWA diaphragm pumps.

Featuring a wetted and totally enclosed sealless pump head design and a PTFE sandwich diaphragm that reduces dead space to achieve optimum volumetric efficiency, LEWA Diaphragm Pumps are available with single and multiple head designs that are capable of handling flow rates from mls/hour to thousands of gallons per pump head and pressures up to 17,500 psig at >±1% accuracy, depending upon configuration.

LEWA Diaphragm Pumps with a Start-Up Assist Valve are priced from $2,995. Literature is available upon request.
