Hargraves Advances Miniature Liquid Diaphragm Pump Technology

Mooresville, NC. (January 9, 2006) Hargraves Technology, www.hargravesfluidics.com, advances the miniature liquid diaphragm pump industry with the introduction of the LTC Series. The LTC Liquid Diaphragm Pump achieves optimal performance in a very compact envelope by incorporating several innovative features to eliminate leaking and enhance dry self-priming. A liquid pump's internal fluidic resistance is a driving factor in its performance capabilities. A liquid media has higher fluidic resistance when compared to gas or air due to it being incompressible and its much higher viscosities. Incorporating an efficient and rugged advanced brushless motor technology, the Hargraves LTC series miniature diaphragm pump exceeds 10,000 hours of operation.

The innovative and patent pending Fluid-Blok(TM) advanced sealing technology to eliminate leaks. Coupled with the monolithic diaphragm designs allow for maximum suction and priming even under dry operation. An advanced flow path and efficient valve system maximize flow with very low power consumption. These liquid pumps are developing an excellent track record in several challenging medical, scientific instrument, clinical chemistry applications, and wide format ink jet printing applications. In addition, the rugged design has been specified in harsh cleaning, dispensing, and waste-removal functions. The Hargraves advanced diaphragm elastomer and innovative bearing and motor design is providing substantial cost savings in reduced field service time. The long life liquid pump capabilities currently include designs up to 1 liter/min flow, pressure ratings up to 30 psig, and suction ratings to 20 inHg. Hargraves liquid pumps are capable of flowing media ranging from mild aqueous solutions to chemically aggressive solutions. Hargraves wetted material options include: Teflon®, Viton®, EPDM, perflouroelastomer; and an advanced, strong, chemically inert polymer (LCP).

Fluidic and pneumatic system developers are being challenged to develop advanced and sometimes portable medical devices, gas analyzers, fuel cell components, digital printers and other innovative high technology products in smaller package sizes. These development engineers require liquid miniature diaphragm pumps, micro vacuum pumps or miniature air compressors that are optimized for pressure, vacuum, flow, noise reduction and efficiency in smaller envelope constraints without sacrificing long life. Hargraves Technology (HTC USA), www.hargravesfluidics.com, has developed an OEM program to optimize and configure a miniature diaphragm liquid pump, miniature liquid vacuum pump or micro air compressor to the fluid transport system's specific application using standard components. The innovative Hargraves design permits configuration flexibility to achieve the optimal performance solution.
