Development Kit evaluates real-time kernel.

Press Release Summary:

µFlashTCP Development Kit provides evaluation of µC/OS-II Real-Time Kernel. When used together, software engineers and system integrators can learn and apply µC/OS-II into real-time embedded applications. Controller is a DOS based SBC powered by Intel 386Ex microprocessor. It is equipped with 10Base-T Ethernet port, 2 serial ports, 10 digital I/O lines, 512K SRAM and 512K Flash memory, and socket for expanding non-volatile memory using M-Systems DiskOnChip products.

µC/OS-II meets µFlashTCP

DAVIS, CA -

JK microsystems, an established leader in single board computers, has partnered with world renowned author Jean Labrosse, creator of µC/OS-II, the Real-Time Kernel, to offer a low cost development platform for µC/OS-II evaluation.

µC/OS-II is a highly portable, ROMable, very scalable, preemptive real-time, multitasking kernel (RTOS) for microprocessors and microcontrollers. Since its introduction,
µC/OS-II has been used in hundreds of products all around the world, such as engine controls, network adapters, industrial robots, ATM machines, instrumentation devices, audio equipment, as well as numerous college and university real-time system courses. This very robust kernel has also been FAA certified and is suitable for use in safety critical systems common to aviation and medical products.

The internals of µC/OS-II are described in Jean Labrosse's book: "MicroC/OS-II, The Real-Time Kernel" (ISBN 1-57820-103-9) which is available worldwide from most technical bookstores and through www.Micrium.com. The companion CD contains all the source code for µC/OS-II as well as ports for the Intel 80x86 processors.

For µC/OS-II users, JK microsystems' µFlashTCP development kit is an ideal platform for evaluating the µC/OS-II kernel and is available for only $199.95. The µFlashTCP controller (pictured) is a DOS based single board computer powered by the Intel 386Ex microprocessor. The µFlashTCP is equipped with a 10Base-T Ethernet port, two serial ports (1-RS232, 1-RS232/485), 10 digital I/O lines, 512K SRAM and 512K Flash memory, and a socket for expanding non-volatile memory using M-Systems DiskOnChip products - all in a package slightly larger than a credit card.

The complete development kit contains a µFlashTCP controller, 110 VAC adapter, connector kit, programming and Ethernet cables, schematic and a CD with documentation, utilities, TCP/IP libraries, sample programs, source code and information for creating µC/OS-II applications on the µFlashTCP. Also included is the Borland C/C++ V4.52 software development tools (compiler & debugger with TASM) - the same environment in which µC/OS-II was originally developed by Jean Labrosse.

When these industry proven products, the "MicroC/OS-II, The Real-Time Kernel" and the µFlashTCP development kit are used together, college and university students, software engineers and system integrators can learn and apply µC/OS-II into real-time embedded applications.
