Devcon/Permatex Launches Comprehensive New Line of Cyanoacrylates

DANVERS, MA - ITW Devcon introduces a comprehensive line of fast-setting Permatex® brand ZipGrip® cyanoacrylate adhesives. The adhesives eliminate the need for fixturing and are ideal for bonding or repairing plastics, metals, rubber, and other materials in a multitude of applications. They are available in a range of viscosities from liquid formulations for close-fitting parts and porous substrates to gap-filling gels that stay in place even on inverted surfaces.
General-purpose ZipGrip® adhesives are ideal for uses as diverse as silkscreening, rapid and high-strength plastic bonding, splicing O-rings, bonding weatherstripping, rubber-to-rubber bonding, rubber-to-metal bonding, and metal-to-metal bonding. Viscosities range from 2 cps all the way to a gel that fills gaps as wide as 0.010".
Surface-insensitive ZipGrip® adhesives bond plastics, metals, and rubber but are specially formulated for fabrics and other difficult-to-bond surfaces. They are ideal for porous or acidic substrates such as wood, leather, and fiberglass mat, even in dry environments. Some formulations wick into porous materials. Viscosities range from 30 cps to a gel that is effective on rough surfaces, fills gaps to 0.010", and offers maximum repositioning time.
Toughened ZipGrip® adhesives provide greater temperature and impact resistance for bonded plastics, metals, wood, and rubber in harsh environments. All formulations of these toughened adhesives offer increased flexibility and superior tensile shear strength (3700 psi), and one resists service temperatures to 280° F. Applications include bonding components for audio speakers, PCB wire tacking, and affixing gaskets to metal. Viscosities range from 500 cps to a gel that fills gaps to 0.010".
Low Odor ZipGrip® adhesive is a low-odor, non-blooming, low-viscosity formulation that is ideal for bonding in closed environments.
The newly expanded ZipGrip® product line is an example of how the recent merger of Devcon and Permatex - "The Bonding of Two Leading Brands" - has led to the creation of one of the world's most comprehensive lines of OEM adhesives and products for industrial maintenance and repair.
