New High Power Density Cello DC Digital Drives

Westford, Massachusetts - Elmo Motion Control announces the Cello digital servo drive family. This very high power density digital servo drive delivers up to 3 kilowatts of continuous power (and 6 KW of peak power) in a standard 6" x 4" x 1.0" (22.6 oz) package. It can operate in Current, Velocity or Position modes and functions with a wide variety of feedback options including Incremental Encoders, Resolvers, Interpolated Analog (Sine/Cosine) Encoders, tachometers and potentiometers.

The Cello features sinusoidal vector control, trapezoidal vector control, trapezoidal six-step and DC commutation methods. This drive has an auxiliary feedback port for ECAM, Follower, Dual Loop and Pulse-and-Direction applications. Digital and analog ports are also available.

The Cello incorporates a powerful programmable intelligent control capability within the standard package (32 KB of memory is available for storing programs). Elmo Motion Control's F-TCT control technology provides enhanced gain scheduling for current and velocity signals with an on-the-fly adaptation of control circuit gains based on application speed and load conditions. The Cello uses the Composer software suite to quickly and easily auto-tune the servo loop gains. Using Elmo's Composer set up tool, Cello users can program and implement full motion profile capabilities.

Integrated into the drive is highly efficient power switching technology aligned with Elmo's especially fast implementation of CANopen networking (DS-301/DS-402) protocol. Two CANopen ports are installed along with one RS-232 serial port for communications.

The Cello is available in models that range from 2.25 Amps to 15 Amps, at three nominal input voltage levels of 48, 85 and 180 VDC. For more information, please contact Aimee Husebo at 978-399-0034 (phone) or email at: info-us@elmomc.com.
