Smart data-acquisition family separates A from D

Fairport NY. DAQ2200 is a new family of PCI/PXI/cPCI data acquisition boards designed in modular format. The digital and analog circuitry is separated on to daughter and carrier boards, minimizing noise and reducing size. On-board custom-power regulation insures stable system power. The boards' small footprint allows integration into space-limited half-size chassis.

DAQ2200 data acquisition family consists of three ranges: simultaneous sampling, high performance multifunction and high performance analog output boards, each with two or three daughterboard variants. Users can retain the same application software program, without code modification, when migrating from the standard PCI architecture to PXI or CompactPCI.

DAQ2000 series features custom-designed input amplifiers, which allows a signal to settle at higher speeds than commercial amplifiers, before A/D conversion of up to 64 channels of data in any order at the maximum conversion rate. Each channel may be configured with a different gain, unipolar or bipolar, single ended or differential and the resulting information is stored in the channel gain queue. This allows signals of all types to be measured in one system.

The high performance analog output DAQ2500 range offers 4 or 8 analog output channels. High-speed signal bus for trigger and clock transmissions allows multiple card synchronization, and allows several cards to be integrated into a system providing card to card sync. Other features include: analog and digital triggering, with data acquisition either before or after the trigger event. Automatic analog I/O channel calibration stores values in EEPROM; self-calibration is also featured, and both operations may be achieved automatically by software command. Additionally, scatter-gather bus mastering allows DMA transfer of data - a cost-effective method for high speed data-gathering.

DAQ2000 series suits a wide range of applications including telecommunications, power and harmonics analysis, transient capture and noise analysis, and, with the 64 channel model, machine control and waveform generation. More details at saelig.com/DAQ2200.htm
