Kollmorgen Introduces Custom SynqNet(TM) Drives
RADFORD, VA --The Kollmorgen division of Danaher Motion has expanded their custom motion control solutions program by adding SynqNet(TM) to the ServoSTAR(TM) CD product offering, as well as SynqNet(TM) capability to their custom drive library of Motion Building Blocks. Kollmorgen is releasing custom multi-axis torque versions, as well as a SynqNet amplifier platform based on their field-proven ServoSTART drive family.
SynqNet is an added interface capability in a line of Kollmorgen drive products that can be customized and designed to meet specific customer requirements. Supporting the SynqNet interface as part of a library of motion building blocks allows Kollmorgen to provide an added dimension of system performance, flexibility and cost efficiency in a drive product.
Designed by Motion Engineering, Inc. (MEI), SynqNet is an all-digital motion control interface for connections between controllers and drives that was developed specifically to address the lack of openly available network technology for high-performance motion control. SynqNet lowers the cost of machine ownership by lowering material, integration, diagnostic and field maintenance costs. SynqNet replaces the defacto standard +/- 10V analog interface with a patent-pending real-time synchronous network to deliver superior motion performance in complex applications. It has gained particularly strong market acceptance and desire in the semiconductor, electronic assembly and robotics industries because of its reliability, simple and flexible operation, and cost effectiveness when compared to other communication protocols.
