Coriolis Sensor measures mass flow of corrosive fluids.

Press Release Summary:

Immune to plant vibration, Promass H has wetted parts made from zirconium for corrosion resistance. Slightly curved, single-tube sensor has no flow splitter. Its ITB(TM) system (Intrinsic Tube Balance) provides balance and stability for accurate measurement (±0.15% in liquids) over various process conditions. Available in sizes 3/8 up to 1 1/2 in. for flow rates to 1,650 lb/min, unit operates in temperatures from -60 to +400°F.

New Coriolis Flowmeter for Highly Corrosive Fluids

Promass H is a New Addition to the Promass Family of Coriolis Meters from Endress+Hauser

October 16, 2002, Greenwood, Indiana - Endress+Hauser introduces Promass H, a Coriolis sensor designed to measure mass flow of hydrochloric and other highly corrosive acids over a wide concentration and temperature range. The new "H" sensor is made of zirconium for all wetted parts: a material chosen for its capability to withstand highly corrosive liquids in demanding applications.

The new Promass H is a slightly curved, single-tube sensor with no flow splitter and is easy to clean. The incidence of pressure loss is low with the Promass H. System balance is ensured by a balancing weight running parallel to the measuring tube. This patented ITB(TM) system (Intrinsic Tube Balance) provides balance and stability for accurate measurement over a wide range of process conditions.

Mass flow accuracy is ±0.15% in liquids. Promass H operates in temperatures ranging from -60° to +400° F. It is available in sizes 3/8" up to 1-1/2" for flow rates up to 1650 lb/min.

The new "H" sensor can be paired with the Promass 80 or the Promass 83 transmitter depending on the application. The Promass 80 transmitter is recommended for basic applications including continuous flow applications, batching with an external batch controller or totalization. Due to its built in batch controller, three totalizers, and other special features: the Promass 83 transmitter is recommended for more advanced applications.

Promass H is one member of the Coriolis family of meters from Endress+Hauser. A variety of transmitters and sensors can be mixed and matched to meet individual applications. Promass Coriolis flowmeters are different from all other Coriolis meters. The unique design makes them immune to plant vibration, with excellent stability and accuracy. No brackets or supports are required for the installation of a Promass, lowering installation costs. The stability of the zero point sets Promass apart. There is no need to re-zero the meter, significantly reducing required maintenance time and costs.
