San Diego, CA -- I-Bus/Phoenix (IBP) introduces the nFUZION-8U family of platforms for high-density server/compute farms, central office based VolP systems, adjunct processors, SCPs and core network management systems.

The premier nFUZION line of application ready platforms (ARPs) meet the stringent space and environmental requirements of the network core, cable head end, telecom central office, wireless remote base station and densely packed data center. Space-saving FUZION-8U platforms integrate seamlessly and efficiently into applications that typically only 10-14U enclosures could accomplish. Like all FUZION platforms, the 8U line is backed by IBP global sales, support, manufacturing and agency approvals.

"The 8U family of highly reliable, highly available application ready platforms represent I-Bus/Phoenix's commitment to offer both Sun and Intel platforms to our OEMs, VARs and Systems Integrators," said John Chan, IBP's VP of Engineering.

The nFUZION-8U/EP, nFUZION-8U/HP and nFUZION-8U/ES comprise IBP's 8U line of ARPs. Each features four, 200W Hot-swap, N+I redundant AC or DC power supplies, an IBP designed and manufactured 8U, 14-Slot CompactPCI Enclosure for revision control, OEM/VAR branding, and optional IBC-SMC fully IPMI-compliant System Management Controller with SNMP software.

The nFUZION-8U/EP CompactPCI® Pentium® III NEBS Compliant Platform offers up to 4 hot-swap, SCSI hard drives supporting RAID, thereby increasing data density and availability, an IBP Pentium III long life cycle Single Board Computer for maximum OEM project life, PICMG 2.12 Compliant Hot-Swap middleware options and hardware RAID controller options. Up to 12 peripherals, including the IBC 2602 peripheral master SBC can be added for dense computing or I/O intensive applications.

The nFUZION 8U/HP CompactPCI Dual Pentium III NEBS Compliant Platform comes complete with an IBP Dual Pentium III long life cycle Single Board Computer, up to 3 hot-swap, SCSI hard drives supporting RAID, and hardware RAID controller options for maximum flexibility. This platform also supports up to 12 pre-installed peripherals.

The Sparc Netra Blade NEBS Compliant nFUZION-8U/ES CompactPCI Platform comes standard with a Sun-Microsystems CP2060 Sparc Ultra IIe Netra blade Single Board Computer for maximum computing power and Solaris 8 CD 6 Operating System support for full hot-swap peripheral cards. Up to 13 additional CP2060 or CP2080 Netra blades are supported for compute intensive applications. Standard PICMG 2.0 R3.0 compliant peripherals, such as switches and network interfaces, are also available.

The nFUZION-8U application ready platforms are available now with standard 4 week, after acceptance of order (AAO), delivery. The standard OEM quantity pricing of the nFUZION-8U platforms ranges from $8,795 to $11,195.
