Original Press Release:
The "Switch-Anything" Switch
Electro Standards Laboratories has just announced the Model 72yy Switch- Anything switch. Switch nearly any data communication interface, local and remotely controllable, with the Switch-Anything switch. This all-purpose switch is customized to have the connectors and signals your application requires.
A device connected to the COM port, or alternately to a separate CONTROL port, sends commands to the Switch-Anything switch. The command set allows the operator to change the switch position and to query the switch status. The Switch- Anything switch will monitor the device connected to the COM or CONTROL port for a predetermined ASCII character trigger sequence to control the switching function of the connector interface. The switch position and continuity are maintained even in the event of a power failure. A rugged aluminum case provides shielding and a front panel pushbutton allows on-site switching. LEDs display switch status.
