Ceramic Crucibles hold metals up to 4000 deg F.
Press Release Summary:
Super-Heat(TM) 676-Series Magnesium Oxide crucibles can be used for ultra-high temperature processing of metals, slags, and superconductor compounds. MgO ceramic is full-fired, 99% pure material with high density (3.45 g/cc) fine-grain microstructure. It offers alternative to alumina because it exhibits better chemical resistance and is inert. Crucibles are available in both shapes up to 7 in. dia, 12 in. long, and with wall thickness of 0.2 in.

New Super-Heat Magnesium Oxide Ceramics Now Available
SUMMARY
Aremco's Super-Heat(TM) 676-Series Magnesium Oxide (MgO) Ceramic Crucibles are now available for use in ultra high temperature processing of metals, slags and superconductor compounds to 4000 degF.
FEATURES
Aremco's Super-Heat(TM) 676 MgO ceramic is a full-fired, 99% pure material used in applications to 4000 degF (2200 degC). Super-Heat(TM) 676 MgO is a high density, fine grain microstructure with an open porosity of less than 1% and an average density of 3.45 gms/cc or 96% of theoretical. This ceramic is an ideal alternative to alumina because it exhibits better chemical resistance and is inert to metals, slags and superconductor compounds.
Typical applications for Super-Heat(TM) 676 MgO include:
Metal Alloy Processing...such as nickel base superalloys and plutonium and uranium systems.
Superconductor Processing...resistant to attack by and non-contaminating to 1-2-3 materials.
Piezoelectric Materials Processing...resistant to lead-based materials.
Beta-Alumina Processing...resistant to sodium attack.
Super-Heat(TM) 676 MgO crucibles are now available in both stock and custom shapes up to 7" diameter x 12" length with a wall thickness of 0.2" maximum. For a listing of standard crucibles or for more information about this advanced product, please contact Aremco's Technical Sales Department.
