Megger Introduces New Innovative Bite 3 Battery Impedance Test Instrument

The new innovative Megger BITE 3 Battery Impedance Test Set is the only battery test instrument on the market today that measures float and ripple current. It also measures internal impedance, cell voltage and intercell connection resistance. The BITE 3 eliminates the need for expensive, nonpredictive and time-consuming load-cycle testing. It also comes supplied with a powerful software package, called ProActiv, to organize and analyze battery data in an MS Access database. The technologically-advanced design and easy-to-use features of the BITE 3 make it the perfect combination for reliable and comprehensive battery analysis.

Designed to measure impedance, interconnection resistance and float and cell voltage, the BITE 3 can effectively evaluate the overall health of batteries by calculating and automatically storing data that allows the user to track a variety of maintenance needs. It is also able to determine the health of lead-acid cells up to 2000 Ah.

The BITE 3 is able to perform these crucial tasks with the aid of ProActiv database management software that downloads all battery configurations and analyzes each individual battery in the system. Users can perform up to 1000 tests and store more than 4000 sets of readings without the hassle of the stop, download, delete and continue process.

ProActiv software also accommodates IR thermographs, diagrams and graphics to store with the battery data. To further benefit the user, graphs can be printed, saved as bitmaps and sent to other programs for written reports.

All of this allows users to budget more accurately for cell replacements, plan for battery changeouts and avoid battery failures in challenging environments where failure is unacceptable - such as electrical power generation plants, substations, telecommunications and UPS facilities, railroads, hospitals and manufacturing plants.

Megger is one of the world's leading manufacturers and suppliers of electrical test and measurement equipment.
