MANNCORP'S VISION AUTO PLACER MOUNTS CHIPS ON CUT STRIPS OF TAPED PARTS FOR PROTOTYPING OR LOW-VOLUME

Manncorp has introduced a pick-and-place system aimed at OEMs who wish to prototype and perform other short-run PCB assembly in-house. Utilizing newly developed cut strip feeders, the 7700-FV provides the high precision and versatility needed for placement of today's advanced SMDs, including 0402 chip components, CSPs, BGAs, and fine pitch QFPs. Even 0201s can be mounted with optional nozzle and feeder.

With a starting price of under $18,000, the 7700-FV has eliminated the need for costly tape feeders by using less expensive cut strip feeders. According to CEO Henry Mann, "This reduces the owner's investment without compromising precision and versatility. It gives OEMs access to an inexpensive placer with high flexibility that can be called on for prototyping and very short runs without reliance on outside suppliers -- an important consideration in getting products to market faster and at lower cost."

The 7700-FV, available in three versions, will accommodate cut strip feeders or filled reels of 8mm and 12mm tapes, along with standard holders for JEDEC trays and stick feeders.
