Analog Input Module provides detailed status information.

Press Release Summary:

Used with 2005 controller, Model AI780 features 8 analog inputs with 16-bit resolution for current signals ranging from 0-20 mA. Inputs are electrically isolated from one another, and each measuring channel has separate electrically-isolated sensor power supply. Measurement signals can be converted either in continuous conversion mode which runs independently of application, or by converting all channels simultaneously using external trigger command.

B&R System 2005 - Analog Inputs for High Demands

The AI780 analog input module for the B&R 2005 controller system is distinguished by its high converter resolution, complete electrical isolation, and its ability to provide detailed status information.

This new module from B&R is the best solution for general automation tasks which need to meet high demands. Its complete electrical isolation also allows existing systems to be connected to new automation devices. Additionally, the module performs extremely well when handling the demands of process automation.

The AI780 module is equipped with eight analog inputs with 16-bit resolution for current signals ranging from 0 to 20 mA. These inputs are electrically isolated from one another. In addition, each measuring channel has a separate electrically isolated sensor power supply.

Measurement signals can be converted in one of two ways: either in a continuous conversion mode that runs independently of the application, or by converting all channels simultaneously using an external trigger command. It is also possible for the module to internally change measurement values into more reasonable physical values, i.e. normalization. This allows measurement range transgressions, overload, and short-circuits in the encoder supply to be detected.

In addition, the AI780 input module is completely compatible with the entire B&R 2005 control system module series. Its total integration within the B&R Automation Studio(TM) development environment goes without saying. Additional Information: office.us@br-automation.com
