Original Press Release:

UV Curable Pressure Sensitive Adhesives Which Can Be Applied with Printing Technologies

Collano has recently developed a new range of UV curable pressure sensitive adhesives. This new adhesive product family can be applied at room temperature with flexographic and screen printing units. This technology offers an innovative way to produce new types of labels and other pressure sensitive products. Using printing technology, adhesives can be applied in a customized pattern, which allows the creation of functional labels with unique end use properties. Existing UV bulbs (currently being used to cure UV inks) can also be used to cure Collano's UV adhesives.

Good adhesion on various substrates and economical benefits due to material reduction possibilities (the adhesive is only there where you really need it) are the outstanding characteristics
of this new product line.

Collano's UV curable PSA's, applied at room temperature, will not replace dispersions or hot melts from a performance perspective, but this new Collano product family will open new opportunities for printers - particularly in the field of specialty labels.
