New Adhesive Excels When Good Wet Tack is Needed
BRIDGEWATER, NJ--A new synthetic polymer emulsion adhesive excels in applications requiring superior wet tack. Called VY-LOK(R) 40-012A adhesive, this product works well for wet or semi-wet combining or thermoplastic mounting of vinyl film to any porous board stock.
Customers may use this product as is or with a water-reducible isocyanate catalyst for improved heat resistance to meet creep resistance requirements. After a catalyst is added and crosslinking occurs, this adhesive may meet specifications for interior sidewall and ceiling panel applications in the production of recreational vehicles.
This specialty adhesive may be applied to either web or board stock using conventional coating equipment. Formulated by National Starch and Chemical Company. VY-LOK 40-012A adhesive is 66% solids with no filler. This product is white in color as a liquid but dries clear. Data on recommended application rates for wet laminating, semi-wet laminating and thermoplastic mounting are available from the manufacturer.
