Adapter Card communicates with I/O system.

Press Release Summary:

Model PCI-AC51 links Pamux bus to PCI-compatible computers. Card provides efficient architecture that allows custom device drivers to run multiple adapters in parallel. LEDs indicate if card has been accessed or if any reads and writes have taken place. It is compatible with company's I/O hardware components capable of communicating via Pamux protocol.

Opto 22 Releases PCI-AC51 Adapter Card; New PCI-based Card for Communication with Pamux I/O Systems

Temecula, CA - February 02, 2005 - Opto 22, a developer and manufacturer of hardware and software for industrial automation, remote monitoring, enterprise data acquisition, and machine-to-machine (M2M) applications, has introduced the PCI-AC51, a high-speed adapter card designed to link the Pamux bus to PCI-compatible computers.

The PCI-AC51 is designed for customers who have been using Opto 22's AC28 adapter card to interface with Opto 22's Pamux I/O but now wish to upgrade to a newer PC that uses a PCI instead of an ISA bus. Pamux, the first addressable, expandable, computer-based I/O system, was first introduced in 1981 and remains among the fastest in the industry, capable of reading 8 points in 3 microseconds and 512 in slightly over one-quarter of a millisecond. Pamux' extremely high speed makes it especially useful for applications utilizing tufting machines, conveying systems, and sorting machines.

The PCI-AC51boasts a streamlined, efficient architecture that allows custom device drivers to run multiple adapters in parallel. Also, new LEDs indicate if the card has been accessed or if any reads and writes have taken place. The PCI-AC51 is also memory mapped, allowing for easier customization of applications and making memory access markedly faster.

The PCI-AC51 is compatible with all Opto 22 I/O hardware components capable of communicating via the Opto 22 created Pamux protocol, including the widely deployed and award-winning G4 and SNAP I/O lines.
