Microprocessor-Controlled AC Hipot Tester for Safety Agency Compliance Testing

Model 2510 includes Enhanced Remote Control capabilities that allow for quick and efficient integration into an automated testing environment

Lake Forest, Illinois, Aug. 2002 - Announced today by Slaughter Company is the addition of enhanced remote control to their microprocessor-controlled AC hipot tester, model 2510, which was designed to provide technologically advanced features and benefits at a cost effective price. Enhanced remote control was designed to allow integration into a fully automated testing environment. The 2510 now provides the benefits of automation without all the expense.

The enhanced remote control utilizes remote inputs to allow a user to send signals for Test and Reset enabling the test cycle to be run remotely. Pass, Fail, and Processing signal outputs are also able to be monitored remotely by the user. Additional safety precautions have been added including a remote safety interlock function. This function, designed to enhance operator safety, can be connected to a test guard station which must be closed in order to allow a test to start. This will disable the test cycle, including the high voltage output unless a safe condition is detected.

The 2510 provides test voltages up to 5,000 VAC and adjustable trip currents up to 10 mA. Additional features of the 2510 include:

o Meets most UL, CSA, VDE & IEC requirements
o Easy-to-read LED with meter memory
o Auto shut-down of high voltage upon failure, with audible buzzer and reject light
o No high voltage present during setup
o Display voltage or leakage current present during testing
