Two New Haas Factory Outlets Open in India

April 9, 2008

Haas Automation, Inc., of Oxnard California, announces the opening of two new Haas Factory Outlets (HFOs) in India to accommodate the country's booming manufacturing economy. In the past decade, global economic changes and developments in technology have stoked the fires of Indian industry - and increased the demand for machine tools. To meet that demand, Haas has opened HFOs in Bihwadi (near Delhi) and Ahmedabad, increasing the number of HFOs in India to four, with a fifth scheduled to open in Chennai around June.

Haas Business Manager for Asia, Justin Quan, notes that the Indian economy is remarkably strong. "They already have the largest forging facility in the world," he says. "Indian airlines are going global, and Tata Motors recently acquired Jaguar and Land Rover." The shift from a labor-intensive type of production to high-tech CNC machine tools is one of the great drivers of Indian industry.

"India has about 8 to 9 percent growth in GDP each year," Quan continues, "and this year should be no different. The HFO network grows with India's industrial revolution." The Haas reputation for quality and service is a strong selling point. The company sold 549 machine tools in India last year, and expects to sell more than 700 in 2008. By 2010, sales of Haas machines in India are expected to exceed 2,000 annually.

Haas Factory Outlets are locally owned and operated machine tool distributors dedicated exclusively to the Haas product line. All HFOs have demonstration areas equipped with the latest Haas machine tools; extensive spare-parts inventories; dedicated Haas sales, service and applications engineers; fully stocked service vehicles and facilities for customer training.

"We want to provide the best of both sales and service," says Bob Murray, General Manager of Haas Automation. "Our HFOs are independently owned and operated to provide the local attention our customers deserve. They offer a professional atmosphere where end users can test-drive Haas products and see the latest technology. Customers can expect the same high level of service from each and every outlet, regardless of location. Each HFO is still unique, though, because it retains the local know-how and relationships that have been built up over the years by the local distributor."
All Haas products are built in Haas Automation's 1-million-square-foot manufacturing facility in Southern California, and distributed through a worldwide network of Haas Factory Outlets (HFOs) that provide the industry's best sales, service and support.
