Sundyne's Maso Sine Factory Achieves UTC Ace Gold Quality Certification


ARVADA, Colo., July 18, 2007 - Sundyne Corp.'s Ilsfeld, Germany, Maso Sine facility has achieved the highest possible rating awarded under the United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) Achieving Competitive Excellence operating system. Sundyne Corp. is a subsidiary of Hamilton Sundstrand, a business unit of UTC.

Sundyne manufactures and distributes Maso Sine sanitary process pumps from its German factory for worldwide food and beverage-producing customers.

Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE) is the fact based, data driven and customer-focused operating system UTC uses to ensure world-class quality and customer satisfaction in all of its products services and processes. The program's focus is to increase efficiency and reduce waste while lowering business costs. Sundyne's employees at Maso Sine have committed to using the ACE philosophy, tools and operating system in all facets of their global pump manufacturing business. The entire organization spent several years streamlining its manufacturing and business processes as well as costs to meet the rigorous demands of the ACE certification process. Through a rigorous, data-driven process assessed by internal auditors, employees and their organizations progress through Qualifying, Bronze, Silver and Gold levels of ACE.

Sundyne will distribute Ansimag sealless magnetic drive pumps across Europe through Maso Sine facility. "We are leveraging the processes and tools to expand our reach into the chemical processing plants of Europe and the Mid-East," Sommer said.
