Rogers Earns AS9100 Aerospace Quality Certification

Carol Stream, IL - Rogers Corporation's BISCO Silicones quality management system has been accredited by Underwriters Laboratories for AS9100 - the quality management system standard for the aerospace industry - for the design and manufacture of high performance silicone elastomer materials (File #A5857).

UL is an accredited registrar for AS91000 under the International Aerospace Quality Group. It issued the Certificate of Registration for Rogers Corporation in late August after assessing the company's quality system for compliance with AS9100.

AS9100 was developed to address international requirements for quality assurance in design, development, production, installation and servicing. AS9100 contains all the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 in addition to numerous additional requirements special to the aerospace industry.

Rogers' BISCO silicone materials like BF-1005 and HT-200 are used in aircraft interiors. BF-1005 is used for vibration mitigation and gap filling applications while HT-200 is used as a sound block material for aircraft insulation.

BISCO silicones offer a broad portfolio of design solutions for the aerospace market and beyond. BISCO materials are resistant to temperature extremes, UV and ozone, and are extremely resilient to mechanical fatigue. They exhibit excellent compression-set and creep resistance. BISCO products are available in configurations to meet Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) 25.853 and 25.856 for aircraft interiors and acoustic insulation.
