NewAge® Industries Honored as Finalist in The Wall Street Journal ®'s "Top Small Workplaces" Contest

Annual Recognition Program Highlights the Best Small Companies

Southampton, PA - Plastic tubing manufacturer NewAge Industries is pleased to announce its selection as one of 35 finalists in the 2009 Top Small Workplaces competition sponsored by The Wall Street Journal and Winning Workplaces(TM), a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting small businesses. NewAge Industries and 34 other finalist companies were chosen from over 300 entrants.

Winning Workplaces and The Wall Street Journal have conducted the Top Small Workplaces event since 2007. It begins with the nomination of companies that meet specific criteria, such as having 500 or fewer employees, independence (not a unit of a larger corporation), and being in business at least five years. A detailed application must be submitted, and finalists are then selected. Customers and employees of the finalists are interviewed for further insight into each company under consideration. Several companies will be chosen as the 2009 Top Small Workplaces and will be featured in a Wall Street Journal Report on Small Business in the publication's September 28, 2009, edition.

"Being selected as a finalist in this prestigious event is a thrill," says Ken Baker, NewAge's CEO. "We've worked hard to make NewAge a great place to work, and to see that recognized is exciting."

Started by Baker's father, Ray, in 1954, NewAge Industries has grown from distributing a few types of plastic and rubber tubing to manufacturing the products. The company has progressed and prospered every year since its inception, and 2008 was its fifth record-breaking year in a row. NewAge continues to seek out and develop new products in order to remain diverse and successful, even during challenging economic times. An ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) was initiated in 2006 and has put more dollars into the team members' retirement plans than decades of standard pension plan contributions.

NewAge serves a wide variety of industries and in recent years added cleanroom production facilities to manufacture items for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries sold under the AdvantaPure® brand. The company is currently in the process of expanded its cleanrooms in order to meet customer demand for the high purity molded silicone manifolds, tubing, and hose manufactured there.
