Automation Inside Readers’ Choice Award for Gemco 2006 Rotary Limit Switch

Horsham, USA, Jan. 27, 2020 – AMETEK Factory Automation, the manufacturer of Gemco rotary limit switches, received the Automation Inside Readers’ Choice Award 2019 for Best Encoder.

The Gemco 2006 Rotary Limit Switch controls the intermediate and end limits of linear or rotary motion on cranes, hoists, packaging machinery, conveyors, doors, or material handling equipment, preventing them from exceeding the intended working area. The Gemco 2006 RLS also prevents overtravel by cutting power to the motor or device that is driving a machine. This secures the equipment, the goods, the workflow and, most importantly, the personnel.

The Gemco 2006 Rotary Limit Switch series is rated for more than 15 million operations. It features all-metal gearing and the shaft, which is tested to up to 2,000 RPM, works both clockwise and counterclockwise. The Gemco 2006 Rotary Limit Switch series is manufactured with electrical switches that are UL recognized.

The simplicity of the rotary limit switch is the key to the success. It is easy to set up as it has very simple wiring and will work flawlessly with no maintenance due to the self-lubricating bearings.

Many cranes need to work in freezing temperatures or in the hot summer sun. This will not lower the safety as the Gemco 2006 Rotary Limit Switch works unaffected from -40 to 82°C (-40 to 180°F).
