Sharing common command and control system, HERO-30 Expendable Reconnaissance UAV is electrically powered and launched from small canister, while HERO-400 Loitering Attack Munition, powered by gasoline, comprises electro-optical day/night imaging sensor and 8 kg warhead. HERO-30 provides half hour of mission time to accommodate needs of front line units as they are engaged in combat. Supporting missions at up to 150 km, HERO-400 can loiter for 4 hrs., for engaging fixed or moving high-value targets.

Horizontally oriented and fully articulated, SnakeHead® protrudes from nose and/or tail cone of aircraft for optimal visual clarity. Computer-controlled, gyroscopically stabilized periscope offers full spherical 360° pan and tilt coverage. Along with solid-state flight attitude sensors and DSP, optical system includes zoom capabilities and components to avoid condensation. Lightweight, Image-Enhanced, Zoom-able Reconnaissance Device (LIZRD) flies in conjunction with hyper-spectral sensors, which offer high-resolution view of aerial scene. It utilizes fiber optic gyro and GPS for attitude and position information, as well as line scanning camera for imagery data collection. Unit performs motion correction to compensate for aircraft attitude variation, stamping information onto digital imagery data. Mission and imagery analysis software are included.
