Production Testing Grips serve high-volume operations.

Instron    Norwood, MA 02062-2643
Aug 08, 2013 Split insert tensile grips, designed as self-contained assembly for high-volume production testing of shoulder-end or button-head machined specimens, conform to ASTM E8, A370, A48, and GOST 1497 (type III specimen). Used for testing high-strength materials that may damage or excessively wear traditional grip arrangements, grips promote effective testing on various metals and alloys. Automatic positioning of inserts ensures uniform specimen support and loading for standard specimens.

Instron    Norwood, MA 02062-2643
Feb 13, 2013 Available in 22,000 and 56,000 lbf capacities, Manual Wedge Grips are suitable for tensile tests on composites, metals, and plastics over temperature range of -112 to +482°F. Grips incorporate moving body, driven by worm gear drive, which closes jaw faces together in self-centering action to clamp specimen. Symmetrical construction of grip body provides even clamping of specimen under load. Together, these features ensure accurate specimen alignment, satisfying Nadcap AC7122-1 and AC7101.

Hydraulic Grips offer open-front design, side-load dampening.

INSTRON    Grove City, PA 16127
Jan 21, 2013 Designed to enhance gripping performance, usability, and operator safety, hydraulic side-action grips with DuraSync technology are field-serviceable and can be used in high-capacity metals testing. DuraSync technology consists of mechanical synchronizer located outside gripping pocket, which prevents mechanical failure due to contamination. Adjustable clamping force alleviates specimen slippage and grip breaks, and opposing jaw faces repeatedly self-center during specimen clamping.
