Dec 06, 2002 Model 516 MPEG-2 codec, in PC/104 format, overcomes low bandwidth of PC/104 bus by compressing audio and video at 30 fps for NTSC and 25 fps for PAL. Stream bit rate is programmable from 100 Kbits/s to 10 Mbits/s. A 64-character buffer adds text to each frame. When combined with Model 301 CPU, compressed data from up to 4 codecs can be transmitted at full frame rates over Ethernet. Model 516 can decompress encoded streams to produce composite, S-video and audio.
