Stacking, Laminating and Coating for Gyroscopes, Small Motors and Stators



A patented process for the multi-laminate stacking, bonding, and coating of gyroscopes, small motors, and stators to insulate and improve wire-winding is available from Applied Plastics Co., Inc. of Norwood, Massachusetts.

Applied Plastics' Stacking, Laminating, Bonding, and Coating Service produces parts with electrical insulation to 2000 V and up to 1000 V/mil thickness, depending upon configuration. Ideal for gyroscopes, small motors, and stators, lamination alignment is held to ±.0005" and parts are deburred and coated to provide smoother wire-winding with reduced scrap.

Capable of applying 0.002" to 0.005" thick coatings in one pass that meet MIL specifications, Applied Plastics' Stacking, Laminating, Bonding, and Coating Service is suitable for parts ranging from 3/8" to 8" O.D. Typical metal laminations, bobbins, end caps, and parts can include Arnon 7 high carbon steel or Magnesil and the coatings can be either epoxy or PTFE.
