Cultec Introduces New Recharger® 150xl HD Stormwater Chamber
BROOKFIELD, CT/- CULTEC, Inc. introduces a new Recharger® 150XLHD stormwater detention/retention chamber, featuring a greater capacity than its Recharger 150HD and enhanced shipping capabilities.
The new model replaces the company's 150HD unit and features a bare chamber storage capacity of 27.16 ft3/unit and a minimum installed storage of 50.17 ft3/unit, an increase of more than 37% over the previous design. The added storage capacity is due to the increase in installed length by 2.75', which allows customers to use fewer units to reach the required storage volume, bringing down the system's costs.
Additionally, the extended length offers the benefit of enhanced shipping economies, allowing CULTEC to transport a larger system per load, reducing freight costs.
The Recharger 150XLHD is 18.5" tall, 33" wide and 11' long and is ideal for installations with depth restrictions or when a larger infiltrative area is required. It has CULTEC's unique side portal internal manifold feature and works together with HVLV FC-24 Feed Connectors to allow manifolding to take place at any point within the system for maximum design flexibility. Each unit has the ability of accepting up to a 12" diameter pipe into its endwall to manage greater flow rates.

In 1986, CULTEC introduced its Contactor® and Recharger® HDPE septic and stormwater chambers and helped begin a revolution toward the use of plastic construction products. Since then, several product developments and strategic alliances have made CULTEC a cutting-edge R&D-based manufacturer. CULTEC chambers can be used as subsurface retention or detention systems and as replacements for ponds, concrete structures or pipe and stone installations.
CULTEC manufactures 10 different chamber sizes ranging from 8.5" - 48" to accommodate almost any site parameter. The chambers' perforated sidewalls and fully open bottoms promote maximum infiltration capability and allow for the transfer of high volumes of water at a low velocity. The units can be installed singularly or in series in single- or multi-layer beds.
In addition, CULTEC developed its own in-line side portal manifold system, which eliminates the need for a conventional pipe header system, and water quality unit for maintaining CULTEC chamber systems. CULTEC products meet H-25 wheel load requirements and have a 10-year warranty.
CULTEC's technical staff offers free design assistance including preliminary calculations and job-specific CAD details. A free CULTEC StormGenie(TM) -- AutoCAD® Plug-In for designing CULTEC systems and a free HydroCAD CULTEC custom edition is also available from the company. In addition, CULTEC products can contribute to the U.S. Green Building Council's credits, under the LEED rating system, when the project is designed per LEED requirements.
